Definition
The City of Bartlett is responsible for maintaining 28 pump stations and 341 miles of sewer pipe within the City limits. This collection system transports sewer to treatment plants within the City as well as to the City of Memphis.
Analysis
The City contracted with Allen & Hoshall Engineering to produce construction plans to replace the City's four largest sewer pump stations, which are approaching the end of life. The construction contract was awarded to Chris Hill Construction in January 2025. Work on this project has an expected completion date of Fall of 2026.
This covers the renovation and upgrading of four (4) existing wastewater pumping stations with the following names and street addresses:
Billy Maher located at 5965 Old Brownsville Road
Raner Creek located at 5258 Shelter Run Lane
Shadowlawn located at 7805 Old Brownsville Road
Brunswick Valley located at 8860 Old Brownsville Road
The work will include, but not be limited to: demolition of existing pumping equipment, excavation, bypass sewage pumping, demolition, wet well modification, wet well wall coating, new valve vault; new submersible pumps and installation, pipework, standby generators, site work, and electrical and control work.
All materials have been delivered and preliminary sitework has begun. As of mid- February 2026, Raner Creek is approximately 80% complete and awaiting startup in the coming weeks. Shadowlawn is currently 20% complete.
