Definition
The 2015 - 2025 Solid Waste and Materials Management Plan for the State of Tennessee was created to serve as a framework to direct solid waste and material management programs and policies across the state. Those guidelines also established a recycling goal of 30% by 2025. The City of Bartlett recognizes the importance of recycling to preserve the environment, reduce air pollution, conserve natural resources, and save landfill space. Therefore, the City seeks to implement proactive measures to increase recycling efforts and exceed the state's goal by recycling 35% of Municipal Solid Waste annually.
