Definition

The Subdivision Ordinance provides regulations that guide the legal subdivision of land according to the State of Tennessee. The ordinance further describes application procedures, infrastructure requirements, vested rights and ensures an orderly design or pattern of land division to align with the bulk regulations of the zoning ordinance. As subdivision laws change, the City of Bartlett must update corresponding ordinances to reflect those changes. In addition, the City can aid in the development process by embedding certain administrative approvals for minor subdivisions to facilitate growth.
